Makeup Starter Essentials Kit

Hi Guys!

I would just like to begin this post by saying that I have created a twitter account (finally!), called @blog_beautybits. Its free to follow and has regular updates about when I have posted and will be posting. I have not yet worked out how to add a icon to my blog yet but shall be soon. There will also be a some exciting announcements at the end so, with that being said lets get started!

If you are just wanting to get into makeup, and don't know where to start, then you have come to the right place! Today I will be writing and reviewing my favourite drugstore makeup starter essentials. So get out your paper and pen to start writing down what you will be getting next when you go shopping! And, if you already have this product, please let me know in the comments what you like about the product because it will be fun to know what we each think of it. If you would like to see another essentials type blog post, maybe fashion or skincare wise, please let me know in the comments section below.

The first category is face. My first face essential is concealer. My favourite is by the brand Nude or Nude By Nature. It is Australia's top mineral makeup brand and I would 100% agree! The product is a liquid mineral concealer and comes in three different shades light, medium and dark, perfect for anyone's skin tone. They would also be great for mixing shades in case you were a light to medium gal or something like that. This product is $19.95 but is well worth it. There is so much product and a little goes a long way! You might notice throughout this blog post that prices may vary for different products, this is because our makeup in Australia is very overpriced! Next is my favourite foundation which would have to be the Maybelline Dream fresh, 8 in 1 BB Cream. I may be a bit bias in saying its my favourite when it really is my only foundation, but I really think it is the perfect one! With so many benefits (8 to be exact) it really is worth the price of $15.95 for a drugstore foundation. The benefits include it is light and fresh, blurs imperfections, enhances, brightens, keeps you hydrated all day, visibly smooth skin, adjust to skin tone and is oil free. I would 110% agree with this as it is a all round perfect drugstore foundation when introducing yourself into makeup. I would have to say, the smell is not my favourite. The shades it is available in is fair, light, medium and medium - deep. This was defiantly going on my essentials list! My last product is a resent purchase just because of so many beauty bloggers and vloggers talking about this item. It is the Stay Matte Pressed Powder by Rimmel London. The shade that I have is transparent, the lightest shade. It also comes in silky beige, peach glow and sandstorm, very interesting names! It is completely true to staying matte all day because to my liking it has. But, I would recommend lessening the amount of products applied to any dry areas because it can appear quite cakey. So, that was all my face makeup essentials, now for eyes!

Creating different eye looks with different eye shadow can come out looking amazing, but when you are looking in beginning makeup then think neutrals. Neutral or natural colours are very wearable and easy to play around with. My two favourites are from the brand Essence, a very affordable, drugstore makeup brand. The first is a 3D Eye shadow in the shade irresistible chocolates, no.09. It is $5.95, so very affordable and you can do so many looks if you pair it with my other favourite eye shadow which is in the shade Cappuccino, please! Another very wearable colour from the brand essence with a price of $3.25. This eye shadow is under the collection Mono Eye shadow, meaning one eye shadow. All the eye shadows mentioned are very pigmented and well packaged. A makeup item that I use to brighten my eyes and also add the effect of bigger eyes is to use a white eyeliner pencil. The one I use is another product from essence and it is one of the Kajal pencils in the shade White, no.04. It is very creamy and
works well for only $2. There are so many drugstore mascara on the market at the moment and it is hard to try them all, especially if you are on a budget. My favourite is one from Covergirl but they have unfortunately discontinued this product. I have found a online website that still sells this mascara so luckily you guys can try it out and I can repurchase it! I( will put the website at the end of this post!) I love this mascara so much because it applies thin and then with 2 to 3 coats it how I like my mascara. It
is also very affordable compared to others. My last product is something I don't have a Image of because it ran out of, but when I have gone to repurchase it is not in stock. It is something for your brows! Brows have been a huge trend and to my disappointment my brows just have not been on fleek! I really have to find the right product to do my brows with but for now I am just using a clear brow and lash gel from essence. It is only $4 and works wonders. My brows look presentable and well shaped when I use this product. It is quite hard for me to find the right shade for my brows as I have blonde hair and my brows are just not noticeable, so using a clear gel is a shade everyone can use. It works really well for a mascara as well because your lashes look really fresh and natural. That is all my eye makeup essentials, now for my favourite LIPS!

This was probably the hardest category to choose some essentials from but I eventually did. My first favourite lip product is the Covergirl Smoochies Lipslicks lip balm (I know, weird). This is a beautiful formulated lip balm/lip stick. The shade I have is #luv u, no.215. I have only been able to find three shades in stores but they have plenty on the Covergirl website. This product is very creamy and easy to apply with very wearable shades. They even smell nice!, good job Covergirl! My next essential is probably one you have heard tons and tons of people talk about the Nivea lip butter. I know, I know, wow what a shocker but I just really had to include it. In case you have not heard of it, its just a really beautiful lip balm in a pot. The price is affordable at $5. I have the caramel cream one and I would really like to try the others, let me know if they are good as well! My last favourite lippie product is Maybelline's famous Babylips. They have added so many new collections and shades it would be to hard to talk all about them. The ones that I own is the basic Menthol flavoured one, 2 of the colour ones both in Mixed Berries but one is darker and one is lighter and then I have a electro pop in Pink Shock. These work so well and are so hydrating for the price of around $3. All of these products I would totally recommend and it won't break your budget :)

So they are all of my makeup essentials, now some tools.

My first tool that I will be mentioning is a simple pencil sharpener. They help to make a clean line so the makeup is on point! (It is also pretty self explanatory so I don't think I need to add a picture.) The last things are just three makeup brushes from the brand Real Techniques, a favourite of mine. The brushes are a essential to have and my favourites is the foundation brush, buffing brush and shading brush. I am not going to go into to much detail as this was just a makeup essentials post, but I did want to mention some great tools. I will be going on a separate review of these at a later date, but for now I guess you can Google them, that's what everyone does, right?

So that's it! My makeup essentials. I really hope you got some ideas from this and I would really like it if you told me your makeup essentials in the comments below. I would also like to know how you found my blog? I think that would just be really interesting. Welcome To My Blog!

Hi Guys!

Welcome to my blog and my first blog post! The first thing I will address is that this blog is anonymous. I choose to make this anonymous because I want to keep my personal life personal. I hope you understand and keep on reading! So, with that being said, now lets get into the fun stuff like where you can find me, Blogging Beauty Bits other then this blog and what the content will be like :)

Blogging Beauty Bits will have a new blog post every week on either Saturday or Sunday. Each week I will post a blog about my passions and interest which are beauty and fashion. Those post will be like reviews, monthly favourites, beauty essentials, OOTD/W (outfits of the day/week) or something along the lines of that. Occasionally there could be a post about food, a DIY or just lifestyle. You guys can also suggest a post in the comments, use the email address on the left to contact me or even tweet me (when I make the twitter account which should be soon!)

So I think that is everything I had to write about. I really appreciate feedback as it will help me to improve!

Thanks Guys! Bye!

P.S - I know that this was not posted on the weekend but that means that you will have two this week!
